Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge Has Given Birth To A Girl, Kensington Palace Has Announced
Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge was admitted at 6 a.m. local time (0500 GMT) Saturday to the exclusive Lindo wing at St. Mary's Hospital West London on May 2, 2015. The couple's first child, Prince George, was born July 22, 2013 at the same hospital. William, who is on leave from his job as an air ambulance pilot, was at his wife's side in the hospital, as he was for George's birth. The baby weighs 8lbs 3oz and her father the Duke of Cambridge was also present for the birth, the palace said. The Duchess and the new baby, whose name will be announced "in due course", were both said to be doing well. The Queen, Duke of Edinburgh, Prince of Wales, Duchess of Cornwall and the baby's uncle Prince Harry had been informed and are "delighted" with the news, the palace added.
