Catherine, Duchess Of Cambridge Leaves Buckingham Palace Yesterday

  The rest of us may be waiting impatiently for news of the royal baby, but it was business as usual for the Duchess of Cambridge today as she took Prince George swimming at Buckingham Palace. Swimming is said to help bring on labour, and the Duchess, who is almost a week overdue, may have tested that theory out if she joined her son in the pool. The Duchess looked relaxed behind the wheel of her Range Rover as she left at lunchtime, suggesting the Great Kate Wait may have some time to go yet.

  If you're anxiously awaiting the arrival of Prince George's little sibling, then we hope you have a Twitter account. When Prince George was born, a royal spokesperson posted the announcement on that now-famous easel in front of Buckingham Palace, but this time around Prince William and Kate Middleton are eschewing tradition and going more mainstream. It is the 21st century, after all.   A palace aide explains that when the hotly anticipated baby is finally born at St. Mary's Hospital in London, first a press release will be sent out to members of the media covering the story, then an electronic message will be going out via the Twitter handle @KensingtonRoyal "a couple of minutes later." Tradition won't be completely bucked, however, as the print version of the announcement will still eventually be posted on the easel in front of the Palace - just in time for onlookers to take selfies with.   So when is this royal birth happening, you...

Why Prince William And The Duchess of Cambridge Won't Name Their New Baby Charlotte

  The odds on the name being chosen still stand at 40/1, with Alice, Elizabeth and Diana also proving popular amongst betters if the 33-year-old royal gives birth to a Princess.   Britain's Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge  won't be naming their second child Charlotte . According to top historian, Clarissa Campbell Orr from Anglia Ruskin University, who specialises in the British monarchy, the couple are unlikely to choose the name for the newborn if the child is a girl due to the unfavorable fates of previous royal figures with the moniker. She told the Daily Express newspaper: 'There is a popular tide of opinion hoping that if it is a daughter she will be named Charlotte. However, from the point of view of the Royal Family, this is unlikely to be a particularly favourable name.'
